[0:00:00] 30 on february the 9th i'd like to call this special city council meeting to order anything public comment issues or concerns that are not on the regular agenda may be raised by the public at this time citizens should speak from the podium address all comments to the deaths begin by stating their name and address or single member district number and limit their remarks to less than three minutes do we have any public comment this morning seeing no one coming to the diocese we'll close public comment and get into the consent agenda item a is considered a resolution canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the special election held january 29th 2022. as a city held their special elections saturday february 29 2022 to fill the single member district 5 vacancy early voting was conducted weekdays between january 12th and january 25th except except for january 17th martin luther king day in accordance with the texas election code this vote totals were as follows for the four candidates karen hesse smith received 428 total votes 51.14 john austin stokes received 316 total votes 37.75 percent annette lucas received 54 total votes for 6.45 percent brian angle received 39 total votes for 4.66 percent the city council officially finds determines and declares the results of the special election to elect karen hesse smith to the on expired term ending may
