[0:00:00] uh so we'll call this meeting to order and uh this is a special agenda to consider a resolution canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the general election held on may 1st the city hailed their general election on saturday may 1st a texas uniform election date early voting was conducted weekdays between april 19th and 27th with the weekend voting conducted the 24th and 25th in accordance with the texas election code there were four positions on the ballot single member district 2 single member district 4 single member district 6 and mayor in a single member district 2 race mercedes de la cruz received 137 total votes for 22.24 percent see abel randall received 51 total votes for 8.28 percent tom thompson received 428 total votes for 69.48 percent in the single member district 4 race lucy gonzalez received 412 total votes for 100 in the single member district 6 race larry miller received 922 total votes for 55.64 percent james r irvin received 72 total votes for 4.35 percent and billy dewitt received 663 total votes for 40.01 percent in the mayoral rates dietrich telus received 1229 total votes for 20.45 brenda gunter received 4451 votes for 74.07 percent and silver silva ra lawson received 329 total votes for 5.48 percent
